We did a review a little over a year ago of the AR-7.. but that was one with a cammo paint job. While the guns have not changed in that time, this one is a different color.. the more standard black. Here are some photos of this interesting and unique survival rifle
The whole rifle stows away into the stock. The stock floats, so while it may look big, this rifle weighs almost nothing.
The cap comes off the end of the stock and the receiver, barrel and magazine fit into holes in the hollow plastic stock.
The parts all screw together with no tools or small parts or screws.
Every attachment screw and nut is captured so they are always right where you need them to assemble the rifle
The AR7 is made of aluminum and is painted so it is not the most attractively finished rifle even when in new condition
The stock is larger on one side than the other to accommodate the barrel inside the stock. This makes it a bit unusual to shoot, but is easily ignored by right hand shooters..
The assembled AR-7 is a solid platform for the .22 long rifle. These rifles are accurate and easy to use
We've been asked about the sights on the AR7. The AR7 has a simple peep sight in the rear
The rear sight is part of the receiver so it is quite strong and will not snag on gear, clothing or terrain
